Development Coordinator, Industrial

Position Overview

Support the Director, Planning and Assistant Development Manager through the municipal review and approval phase of projects as well as key interface for all industrial strata transactions.  This includes coordination (civil, architectural, landscape) both internally and with external consultants and clients.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Development Planning:

  • Prepare materials required for plan change, rezoning and development permit applications
  • Research and understand emerging municipal and regional policies and plan changes as they relate to industrial development
  • Use municipal GIS tools to obtain zoning and property information and review information for any property restrictions or encumbrances
  • Willing to learn basics of governing planning and development legislation
  • Schedule and manage meetings, take minutes/notes, and undertake necessary follow-up
  • Assist with the compilation and review of all materials necessary for outgoing proposals
  • Draft letters and edit outgoing correspondence
  • Create subcontracts, change orders and purchase orders in Timberline

Industrial Strata Transactions:

  • Provide design and building specification support
  • Collate and maintain data integrity of various internal folders
  • Manage consultant deliverables including, lawyers, brokers, surveyor, and property manager
  • Track all strata and condo sales, relevant departments
  • Respond to purchasers enquiries
  • Provide support for the purchaser’s office and warehouse improvements process including preparing construction contracts
  • Provide support for the preparation of documents required for completion of all strata Purchaser and Sale Agreements
  • Collate information for the Purchaser’s Property Management Folder ahead of construction completion and sales completion
  • Maintain integrity of information in the CRM for all aspects of development

  • Highly organized and methodical thinker
  • Ideal background includes real estate, planning and development
  • Knowledge of municipal review and approval process
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and civil drawings, or a willingness to learn
  • Excellent computer skills and must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat Pro
  • Must have an understanding of the real estate development process
  • Strong work ethic
  • Thrives in a fast paced high pressure environment

  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills
